Cutoff Controls

WPC Cutoff Controls automatically control print-to-process register. Applications include: print-to-cut, print-to-perforate, print-to-glue, print-to-fold, print-to-die-cut, and others. The system is proven to reduce associated cutoff waste.

How it Works

The color scanner reads any process color mark and sends a pulse mark signal to the system controller. The encoder, fixed to the press, keeps mechanical time in direct ratio with the printed target and sends this data to the system controller. The system controller analyzes registration and signals the correction motor to advance or retard the web. A mark is required to have the system do an automatic make ready but the system is also able to use the image as a mark.

System Controller

The compact touch pad controller offers quick setup. A continuous digital display shows register deviation. Modular electronics for easy installation and service. Field programmable press constants include: impression length, gate size, dead zone, and correction response. Optional software for applications such as Mark-to-Mark Registration allows system to be customized to your specific needs.

Color Scanner

The scanner reads printed targets or copy in black or color. A yellow mark scanner is available for yellow target mark applications. Unique pulse mark light at the scanner. Full sheet width bar and quick disconnect cables allow quick positioning without tools.


Heavy duty high resolution optical encoder. A single encoder can control multi-web or controller applications.

Correction Motor

The AC synchronous stepping correction motor yields a quick and accurate response.
